As the Centre region has been battling the hot weather, Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths’ employees were discussing their most interesting photo booth events. There were many stories, but one event stood out. It happened on a very cold January night during a blizzard.

A nor’easter was forecast to hit the Centre region and drop a fierce amount of snow. The meteorologists predicted snowfall in the double digits ranging from 20 to 30 inches before the storm ended. Our client did not want to change the date of the event and reserved rooms for all the guests. The snowfall was supposed to start in the mid-morning with heavy accumulations beginning around 7:00 pm until the following morning.

Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was asked to set up early due to the storm and later conditions. While setting up, venue workers were keeping abreast of the snowfall predictions. Many were looking out windows awaiting the first snowflake. Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths’ employees were also watching the weather and saw the first snowflake drop. Before leaving the venue, the snow had begun to accumulate in the parking lot and windshields. The falling snow was a heavenly sight from the inside, but the weather would soon worsen.

The event had a great deal of people present for the festivities, but a few tables were empty of party goers. Some stragglers came in a littler later due to poor road conditions. Everyone seemed upbeat and willing to have fun while the Centre region was experiencing a dampening amount of snowy conditions due to the nor’easter. People flocked to the Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths BIG camera for some memorable photos. They were eager to grab props and mug for the camera. Quite a few guests went outside and captured some snow as a prop for a few photo teasers.

While the guests were discussing spending time at the pool, Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was tearing down, cleaning snow off their vehicle and preparing to battle the icy, cold and snowy conditions. Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths waved goodbye to the venue manager and began their homeward bound travels.

Only one lane was open on the roads Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths were traversing. The windshield wipers were freezing to the windshield. Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths had to stop a few times to clean the windshield and wipers. Not many people were traveling home that night. Snow plows were trying to make pathways for motorists on the major highways, but the other roads were heavily covered with snow. Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was thankful when they pulled into their office parking lot and walked through the 2 feet of snow that had fallen since leaving for the event.

Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths followed the United States Postal Service creed that snowy, blustery, nor’easter night, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers (photo booth operators) from the swift completion of their appointed rounds!”

Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths had the pleasure of celebrating the marriage of Dewey and Lacey at the C. Barton McCann School of Art, Fern Hill located in Petersburg, Pennsylvania. Lacey wore a lovely, white, lace, beaded, strapless gown. Her bridesmaids were arrayed in sleeveless, navy blue gowns, and her junior bridesmaids were garbed in sleeveless, sequined, champagne rose gowns. Dewey and his groomsmen were attired in a black suit, vest, tie and white shirts. Since the couple are Penn State graduates, the color scheme reflected the school’s colors of navy blue and white.

Wedding guests quickly walked over to the Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths BIG red camera to begin creating their dazzling ensembles. They began trying on flamboyant hats that would set the stage for their photo session. Many grabbed boas and masks along with hand held props to generate spectacular pictures. Young and old alike were ready to mug for the camera. Wedding guests also had the opportunity to serenade the newlyweds with private messages and photo booth photos in the couple’s memory book. Later, Dewey and Lacey could look back and reminisce about the exciting day while viewing the messages along with the pictures!

The newlyweds chose a 4×6, 4-picture, landscape border embellished with navy blue and white zigzags. Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths had a steady line of guests posing for pictures. Young and old alike were quick to grab some props, step behind the BIG red camera and pose for some pictures. Dewey posed with his mother and siblings for a variety of awesome photos. Even Dewey and Lacey’s wedding photographers stepped behind the camera and posed for some striking, fun-filled photos.

Thank you Dewey and Lacey for allowing Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths to capture some stunningly, funny and fabulous pictures that will leave everyone fondly smiling and reminiscing about your wonderful day!

Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths had a wonderful time at Vince and Megan’s wedding reception at the Above The Valley Event Center.

Vince and Megan were married in Denver, Colorado and decided to have a reception in the State College area for friends and family. 2019 was the 10 year anniversary of their being a couple, and they emphasized that their wedding reception was a celebration of their first decade together!

Once guests were finished with dining on some fabulous food, they quickly walked over to the photo booth area to begin creating their dazzling ensembles. They began trying on flamboyant hats that would set the stage for their photo session. Many grabbed boas and masks along with hand held props to generate spectacular pictures. Everybody was ready to pose for the camera.

Guests were eager to dance the night away to the grooves, lights and emceeing of And We Danced DJ Entertainment while mugging for their picture at the photo booth. Many people made sure to take a picture with their significant other. Groups started to build with friends trying to outdo each other with the hilarious props! We were laughing so hard as people squished behind the camera. Photo bombing was the norm later in the night as guests kept the hilarity soaring. No one wanted to leave at the end of the night. We really enjoyed the opportunity to party with these fine people.

At the end of the night, many of the guests thanked Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths for a great time! We had a totally awesome time ourselves, and we thank Vince and Megan for inviting us to provide photo booth fun for their wedding reception. Many congratulations to both of you and good luck to you in Denver, Colorado!

Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths had a marvelous night with the Penn State Graduate & Professional Student Association (GPSA) celebrating their annual Winter Gala at the Nittany Lion Inn! This was the fifth consecutive year that Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was part of this wonderful event. The students were charming and inventive with their poses behind the BIG camera. It was exciting to say hello to familiar faces and welcome new students and guests to the event!

The Nittany Lion Inn arranged a captivating buffet for this years gala. The buffet included prime rib, chicken and an awesome selection of vegan entrees. The phenomenal dance music was provided by And We Danced DJ Entertainment! They kept the dance floor packed with dancers and not only played popular tunes but also international hits. One young man entertained the audience with his fraternity’s dance to “Atomic Dog” which also included awesome breakdancing moves.

The Graduate & Professional Student Association picked an awesome 2×6, 4-picture, black with gold snowflake border. This year, the photo booth was stationed inside the ballroom, allowing guests to dance over to the photo booth to pose for pictures. Props were flying as quests quickly donned new hats, boas and glasses in the ten second time interval between pictures. Even though the line was long for pictures, everyone was giggling, helping people find some fantastic props and sometimes photobombing their friends’ amazing pictures. Guests did not only take home one photo strip, but a few. They posed with their significant others and also with good friends. A few guests jumped into someone’s arms and posed for a picture in the carrying-the-bride-over-the-threshold style!

Thank you for a wonderful night! This was our “first post graduate year” doing the event! Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths hopes to be a part of next year’s Graduate & Professional Student Association Winter Gala!

Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths had the recent pleasure of celebrating the holiday season with Foxdale Village at the State College Ramada Hotel and Conference Center. Foxdale Village chose a charming 2×6, 4-picture red snowflake and white snow border for the night’s picture posing activities. An amusing array of Christmas hats, glasses and handheld props were available for guests while posing behind the Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths BIG camera. Lighthearted enthusiasm ensued as guests stepped behind the BIG camera and posed for pictures. Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths captured the sweet smiles along with the silliness of the holiday season.

Foxdale Village offers a holistic approach in providing services for older retirement people and was modeled after Quaker-directed communities existing in southeast Pennsylvania. They have been in existence in the State College community since 1990. Foxdale offers an assortment of apartments or cottage homes for older retirement people to live in. Besides living within the community, residents have a chance to meet others, participate in educational lectures or classes, work out together, and dine together. Transportation is also available to attend appointments and go shopping.

Foxdale Village also offers residents living in the village wellness opportunities and have onsite physical therapy if needed. All retirement people have an opportunity to participate in State College Area School District and Penn State educational classes. Penn State offers retirees who enjoy learning to take classes through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). Many OLLI classes are held right in Foxdale Village. Besides classes, OLLI also offers trips to dinner theaters, hiking or joining a reading group. Foxdale Village has a great deal to offer people who are contemplating a move to a retirement community and continue to grow and thrive.

Thank you Foxdale Village for choosing Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths to be a part of your holiday season!

Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths had an awesome night recently with the Middle Atlantic College Stores (MACS) organization. The group was in town holding their 48th annual meeting and buying show at the Nittany Lion Inn. The theme for this year’s event was football tailgating. Members were dressed in their favorite team’s sports jersey while dining on chicken wings, chipped beef, sausage and peppers, and other delicious tailgate foods and dessert.

Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths designed a special 4×6, 4-picture, football skin event border with a football sailing through the goalpost. MACS attendees could be seen striking a pose for the camera. Boas, hats, large and small hand held props, glasses, and frames were repeatedly grabbed and discarded as the attendees struck a pose behind the camera. Each group would quickly don a prop and then pose for the picture. Take a look below at all the smiles MACS attendees wore for the camera!

And We Danced DJ Entertainment was leading some exciting party games along with music to keep the crowd entertained during the tailgate event. It was not surprising to see people running down to grab a straw and suck up a marshmallow before heading back to their places. Many MACS attendees not playing games were busy cheering on their favorite team or MACS person. Before leaving, many MACS attendees were busy marshmallow sculpting some really impressive pieces!

The Middle Atlantic College Stores Association is a nonprofit organization that strives to promote the general improvement of college stores in the Middle Atlantic region. They also further the professional growth of all of the members in their organization. The group is overseen by a board that changes membership each year. Membership in the organization is open to all college and K-12 stores that engage in the selling of books, supplies, or institutional merchandise necessary for students and faculty of an educational institution. Firms that sell to the stores defined previously can also be members of the organization. The Middle Atlantic region includes Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Thank you MACS for tailgating with Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths at your 48th annual meeting!

June 13th was the last day of school for the State College Area school district. As kids were leaving their school buildings, a phrase was being chanted by the kids and teens from an Alice Cooper song, “School’s out for Summer!” At Gray’s Woods Elementary, kids were saying goodbye to their teachers and heading to State College’s Dairy Queen for a few hours of fun, photos and ice cream. Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths had their BIG camera ready for kids to say, “Hello Summer!”

State College’s Dairy Queen had Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths, Home Depot, games and coloring fun on hand for the Gray’s Woods Elementary kids to celebrate the beginning of summer vacation. Home Depot had kits for kids to build such as model airplanes, and Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was indoors taking pictures of friends, families and teachers posing with various hats, boas, hand held props and glasses. Each group posing for a picture had the chance to pick one of four ‘Hello Summer’ border designs to offset their photo fun. The groups posed for four pictures and received a photo strip with their chosen photo border.

Froggy 101 was also doing a live broadcast featuring the fun that was available for kids celebrating the beginning of summer vacation. Froggy’s mascot, Froggy, was not camera shy. The mascot was quick to get behind the camera, try on a hat, pick a border and pose for a picture. Kids had an opportunity to also pose with Froggy behind the camera.

Dairy Queen was the big sponsor for the Gray’s Woods Elementary School ‘Hello Summer’ event. During the event, and later in the evening, Dairy Queen generously donated a portion of their proceeds to help the various programs sponsored at the Gray’s Woods Elementary School. It was a great day with the added dose of helping a local school!

Thank you Dairy Queen for inviting Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths to be a part of the the DQ Gray’s Woods Elementary Hello Summer event. Have an awesome summer!

Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths had a marvelous evening celebrating the marriage of Jen Berkebile and Erik Schmalz at General Potter Farm on Saturday, June 2nd. Jen and Erik were definitely meant to be as they buzzed among guests, mugged behind the camera and danced the night away with And We Danced DJ Entertainment‘s awesome musical mixes. Smiles were always on their faces. The couple were also wonderful while behind the camera. They both have a great sense of humor and are loved by family members and their guests.

The couple were joined in marriage by their friend Joe Jividen at the Rhoneymeade Sculpture Garden & Arboretum. The bridesmaids sported bright poppy red dresses, while the groomsmen donned blue suits with poppy red ties. The bride was gorgeous in a beautiful taupe colored dress, while the groom wore a handsome blue suit. The bridal party were special friends from school and family members. No one was shy that night as they stood in line waiting for their turn at the photo booth. The bride was definitely number one that night as she sported the hand held number one prop behind the camera with her chums. The groom wasn’t far behind as he grinned along with his cronies and did some spectacular poses for the camera.

The photo booth had a never ending line as the night progressed. Young and old were not bashful when picking out hats, props and glasses. No one was chicken flashing behind the camera. Lotsa Laffs really means lots of laughs, and the guests were sure living up to our name. No one wanted to see the night end, but everyone had spectacular picture mementos to take home and reminisce about Jen and Erik’s walk down the aisle.

Thank you Jen and Erik for allowing Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths capture some spectacular, funny and striking pictures that will leave everyone fondly smiling and reminiscing about your wonderful day!

Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths was part of the week long State College Dairy Queen’s 10th Anniversary celebration leading up to their official anniversary on February 6th. The dining area was aligned with pictures from the past 10 years. Each day was set aside with an awesome treat for the day, reminiscing or special day to have fun with the kids or to treat your significant other with a DQ meal and ice cream treat. It was great to see the many faces that manned the counters and birthday parties in the last 10 years.

Lotsa Laffs was on hand on February 3rd as DQ held a DQ Children’s Day. Games were held inside along with a magician performing magic tricks for patrons. Kids had a chance to win some awesome ice cream treats playing hockey and fishing for ducks. Parents alongside their kids mugged for some neat pictures with Lotsa Laff’s.  Lotsa Laffs made some gorgeous custom photo strip borders to help Dairy Queen celebrate the week’s festivities.

The State College Dairy Queen’s official anniversary was on February 6th. Many people stopped by along with QWIK Rock and Lotsa Laffs to wish the folks a Happy 10th Anniversary. Everyone had a piece of ice cream cake to celebrate their official 10th anniversary. The ice cream was a treat on the cold snowy day, but the warmth inside made up for the cold winter blues outside. Lotsa Laffs had the opportunity to get Ben Lerner and Don Boller to smile for the camera. Ben walked away saying that this photo needs to be posted for all to see. We even had QUIK Rock’s Diana Stapleford (general manager), Drew Shannon (radio personality), Michael Stapleford (Owner/President) and two interns mugging behind the camera.

Congratulations to Dairy Queen of State College on this big milestone! Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths thanks you for allowing us to be part of your celebration days. It was great to see our strips appearing on your walls commemorating the past ten years.  We look forward to providing our photo booth at DQ Miracle Treat Day in July!!

Happy 10th Anniversary State College PA Dairy Queen!!!

Did you know that Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths excels at capturing family portraits at events? Recently a bride-to-be told us that she didn’t want to have photos with guests using props in her guest book. Instead, she wanted normal pictures of her guests with their signatures to remember the day. Lotsa Laffs mentioned that her guests could take pictures without props at her wedding reception, and they would have a family portrait as a wedding favor for the event. The bride loved the idea and booked Lotsa Laffs for her wedding.

Family Portraits at your event with Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths include 4×6 photos of guests (without props) arriving at the reception. Guests place one portrait picture with their well-wishes in a portrait guest book, and the other is their own to keep as a wedding favor.  Everyone loves the idea of a family photo without the hassle of scheduling an appointment with a photographer. They walk away with a wedding favor that is never forgotten.  Brides and grooms love our family portrait favors and regard them as an enhanced part of their big day.  Family portraits can also be sent out to many social media platforms directly from our photo booths.  Enlargements of the portraits can be ordered any time after the event.

Later on at your special event, we open the photo booth for hilarious fun for your guests WITH PROPS!  Your guests will be delighted to have some fun with hats, glasses and other props while mugging for the camera and receiving traditional photo strips as additional favors. At the end of the evening, everybody will be passing their favors around for others to see and admire.

This is an absolutely marvelous idea for any event be it a small family affair or a large corporate event.   Family Portraits at your event with Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths can greatly enhance your event!  Call or text Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths at 814-380-1355 or email us at info@lotsa-laffs.com to discuss using Lotsa Laffs Photo Booths as your portrait taker at your next event!

We can open the photo booth for hilarious fun WITH PROPS, later in the evening after family portraits!
